Paintings with Stories is the companion exhibition to the release of Fabian Erik Patzak’s eponymous book. As the publication is an anthology of paintings that span over 20 years, the work in the exhibitions reflects a range creative periods with a particular focus on his newest series Tuchhaus - House of Fabric, which evokes the artist’s family’s legacy in the textile industry.
 
 
 
 
 
 
Paintings with Stories
The book
is an anthology of anecdotes, memories, meditations, poems, essays, first-hand accounts, and short stories that relate—directly or indirectly—to all that exists beyond the surface of the work of Fabian Erik Patzak. The paintings, created by one hand, interlace the words of twelve distinct writers and invite readers into intimate interior worlds. The publication provides nearly seamless transitions between and within two decades of painted works and nearly a century of memories and stories from different times and places.
